Comana Trail Running – March 10th, 2013

Sometimes you just want to run with your friends. For fun and for running itself. Trail Running seems to work well with this idea.

When my old friend Morten calls  for a trail running session I can only say YES and look for a good location. We had a great Trail Running experience back in January 2012 in Cernica Forest (good weather, nice trails and some strangely kind gipsies). We had planned this new trail running session for March 1oth at Comana. The”team” was completed by Alex Paraschiv and Alex Axon.

In the previous day Alex Paraschiv and me were taking part in the Postavaru Night vertical race at Poiana Brasov. But we were ready for a “recovery” run. We set our target for 20Km. We had a fine weather and  a lot of paths ahead. We took on all kind of different paths and roads, met bikers and locals, “jumped” back into the village of Comana sooner than expected, turned again and ran along the forest having a great view aside.

We stopped for several times to guide ourselves and to choose the most suitable way. Shared water, saw a group of deers and enjoyed the “green road”. We even found a fountain with a broken pot. Not lucky!

To complete our “target” we went few kilometers on the same road we had started and got back. Still not enough. We ran 2k inside the village, disturbing the locals’ life. Finally, the trail running was over. Way too tiring than expected. But great run in fact. Good job guys! Waiting a new call from Morten!

Comana (35K) from Bucharest is  a good place to try  a trail running. In fact, at Comana will be held a marathon called “Tabere cu Suflet”, on May 25th.
