Runners are friends even they don’t know each other. Imagine what happens and they are already friends and and they meet over and over! They want to create a special marathon. For this reason and many others you are invited to: Pleven Marathon in Bulgaria (Plevna as we call it in Romania).
Save in your calendar 28 September 2014. It is called Pleven Friendship
Marathon and is design to commemorate the sacrifice of thousands of
Romanian, Russian and Bulgarian soldiers died in the summer of 1877
in the region of Pleven and Griviza in the battles for the
independence of Bulgaria.
Ro Club Marathon is partnering organizer along with Begach Running Club. Director of the event is the friend of Romanian marathon runners, Stanislav Georgiev (Stan).
This marathon can be considered a part of the net of some 10
historical marathons and ultra marathons held in Romania. The route
of the marathon passes through the main historical places in the
region, including the Museum of Romanian soldiers in Griviza. Our
friend and world famous flag-man runner Ilie Rosu is the Romanian
ambassador of the event.
Location is convenient, Pleven is just 230km away from Bucharest and
it takes 3 hours to reach it. We ensured 15% discount for Ro Club
Marathon members upon registration. We can organize transportation
and lodging for those who would like to use this option, upon
minimum 30 people demand.
